Superb Museum-worthy Monet

This impressive and beautifully framed original oil is one of Claude Monet’s most splendid paintings of the Lilly Pond at Giverny. It is in good condition and of very high quality. It is worthy of a major museum. There is a Bernheim Jeune gallery certificate verso identifying it as a work by Claude Monet. There is a separate ancient gallery sales receipt from Bernheim Jeune that also identifies it as a painting by Monet. There is also a certificate attached verso from Vienna’s Galerie Miethke which identifies it as a Monet. It is not known which was the first gallery to sell it and which was the second. It appears to have been acquired by its current owner from an art restorer retained by the heirs of a well-known Venezuelan family.
